Prime Minister Abiy unveiled his fourth and latest book, Medemer State, on Tuesday (September 16), presenting it as a refined extension of the Medemer (synergy) philosophy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sport, organized an Ethiopian cultural music night at the National Theatre for members of the diplomatic corps in Addis Ababa on Friday (September 19). The cultural music was presented by ‘Kine Ethiopia,’ a group that is currently promoting Ethiopian culture in various parts of the world. Traditional cuisine was also served alongside the cultural music night.
Ambassador Hadera Abera, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attending the 80th UNGA in New York, met on the sidelines with representatives from the United States, Cuba, Mozambique, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, South Sudan, the Philippines, and the UN.

Ethiopian Ambassador to Brazil Leul Tadesse addressed the Second Global Summit of the School Meals Coalition in Fortaleza on Saturday (September 20), highlighting Ethiopia’s progress, initiatives, and future plans in school meal programmes. He underscored school meals as an investment in education, health, and local economic transformation and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating their implementation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deepest condolences on the sudden passing of Ambassador Ayele Lire Jijamo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia, who was serving as Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Cuba, in a message of condolences released on Monday (September 22).

Africa and the African Union
Angolan President João Lourenço, addressing the 7th Summit of the AU Committee of Heads of State and Government on Security Council Reform in New York on Sunday (September 21), called for at least two permanent seats and five non-permanent seats for Africa on the UN Security Council, including veto rights.
African Union Commission Deputy Chairperson Selma Malika Haddadi, in a keynote statement at a UNGA80 side event on Tuesday (September 23), called for African self-reliance and stronger global partnerships. She highlighted Africa’s progress in funding its own security through the AU Peace Fund, underscored the African Continental Free Trade Area as a driver of integration, and noted Africa’s growing global voice with a permanent seat in the G20.
