President Taye Atske Selassie, joined by State Ministers Ambassador Hadera Abera and Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye, led members of the diplomatic corps and heads of international organizations based in Addis Ababa on a visit to the newly inaugurated Mesob One-Stop Service Center on Wednesday (April 30).

President Taye, speaking during the diplomats’ visit, emphasized that efficient service delivery is a core responsibility of government and a key element in building public trust. He noted that the establishment of the Mesob Center is a significant step toward modernizing how citizens access essential services.

The Mesob One-Stop Service Center integrates the services of 12 federal institutions into a single digital platform, offering 41 services in one convenient location. The system is designed to eliminate long queues, reduce the need to visit multiple offices, and replace outdated paper-based procedures with faster, technology-driven processes.

Ambassador Siraj Rashid, Director General of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided an overview of the services available and explained the operational model of the center. He also mentioned that ongoing improvements are being made to further enhance efficiency and align the services with international digital service standards.

Participating institutions include National ID Ethiopia, Immigration and Citizenship Service, Document Authentication and Registration Service, Ministry of Revenue, Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, Ministry of Labour and Skills, Ethiopian Investment Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Educational Assessment and Examination Service, Ethio Post, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, and EthioTelecom. All agencies are digitally connected to ensure smooth and integrated service delivery.

During the occasion, the diplomatic community commended the initiative, describing it as a promising model for e-governance and a strong example of public sector reform in the region.

It is to be recalled that the center was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, accompanied by senior federal and regional officials.
